What is Viropil® Tablet?

Viropil® - tablets with three main components: Dolutegravir (50mg) + Lamivudine (300mg) + Tenofovir disoproxil fumarate (300mg), which are assigned as an anti-HIV medication. This pharmaceutical works by preventing the action of a reverse transcriptase enzyme. This enzyme is responsible for the production of HIV.

How to use Viropil® tablet?

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Viropil® Tablet may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.

How Viropil® tablet works?

Viropil® Tablet is an anti-HIV medication. It works by preventing the action of reverse transcriptase enzyme. This enzyme is responsible for production of HIV.

Viropil® tablet related warnings

Alcohol

It is unsafe to consume alcohol with Viropil® Tablet.

Pregnancy

Viropil® Tablet is highly unsafe to use during pregnancy.
Human and animal studies have shown significant adverse effects on the fetus. Please consult your doctor.

Lactation

Viropil® Tablet is probably unsafe to use during lactation. Limited human data suggest that the drug could represent a significant risk to the baby.

Driving

Viropil® Tablet does not usually affect your ability to drive.

Kidney

There is limited information available on the use of Viropil® Tablet in patients with kidney disease. Please consult your doctor.

Liver

Viropil® Tablet should be used with caution in patients with severe liver disease. Dose adjustment of Viropil® Tablet may be needed. Please consult your doctor.

Expert Advice

• Viropil® Tablet is used to treat HIV infection.
• Skipping doses increases the risk of treatment failure. Make sure that you take all your doses at the correct time.
• Take it on an empty stomach, preferably at bedtime.
• Inform your doctor if you have a history of hepatitis B infection.
• Do not take this medicine if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
• It may cause a decrease in your calcium levels. Your doctor may monitor calcium and Vitamin D levels regularly and prescribe supplements, if needed.
• Your doctor may monitor your liver function regularly during treatment. Inform your doctor if you notice yellowing of eyes or skin, dark urine, or stomach pain.
